Sunburner (Deny The Rot) is a journey of ambient synths and pop hooks that descends into an unrelenting sonic assault, with the help of featured vocalist Ben Mason, known for his outstanding harsh vocals in Bound in Fear and Pintglass.

The lyrics and vision of Sunburner (Deny The Rot) were originally written in 2018 by guitarist Adam Sedgwick about his experiences before and after being diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder.

Drag ourselves from the darkness.
Mouths so sore from bitter sleep (Bitter)
Cleansed and dressed to hide the signs
Patterns swallowed, by design
To hide the signs that we betray
Sunburner

The light will never guide us home
(It’s blinding, all too much to take)
We’re withered, broken and alone
(Skin cracked, the scabs about to break)
Exposed we’re, terrified of what’s inside us
Deny the rot keep on, Deny the rot
Eyes closed, mouth shut, stay numb, sunburned

Made frail, laid low
Failures made flesh
beaten awake
Eyes blaze, were prostrated
We’re weakend, undone
And we loathe what we have become

The light will never guide us home
